FTMO Rules 2026: Payouts, Drawdown & Profit Split
FTMO’s rules for every plan we list, taken from FTMO’s own site and read on 5 Nov 2026: 2 plans across forex & CFD. On these plans the first profit target runs 10%, the daily loss limit 3% to 5% and the max loss 10%. The profit split is 80% to 90%, and each plan below links to its full rule sheet. Percent of the starting balance, the same at every size.How the plans differ
- 2-Step: FTMO’s classic challenge: 10% then 5%, a 5% daily loss and a 10% max loss that never moves, at least 4 trading days per phase and no time limit. The split starts at 80% and the fee comes back with your first reward.
- 1-Step: FTMO 1-Step is a single 10% target with a 3% daily loss and a 10% max loss that trails your end-of-day balance. It pays 90% from the start, but has a 50% best-day rule in the challenge.
Rules in plain English
Daily loss
Counted from the previous day’s balance at midnight Prague time (CE(S)T): 5% of the starting balance on 2-Step, 3% on 1-Step and Instant.
Max loss
2-Step: 10% below the starting balance, static. 1-Step: 10%, trailing your highest end-of-day balance until it locks. Instant: 10%, trailing intraday on closed balance.
Targets and days
2-Step: 10% then 5%, at least 4 trading days in each phase. 1-Step: 10%, with a 50% best-day rule. No time limit.
Rewards
First reward request from day 14 after your first trade, then on demand; approved in 1–2 business days. 2-Step pays 80% (90% with the Scaling Plan), 1-Step and Instant 90%. The 2-Step fee is refunded with your first reward.
News and holding
No news limits in the Challenge or Verification. On a Standard funded account you can’t open or close trades on affected symbols 2 minutes either side of selected news, and you must close positions before breaks longer than 2 hours; the Swing account type has neither restriction.
